Gerrit Cole, DJ LeMahieu, Tommy Kahnle and Oswald Peraza, Yankees

Cole (right elbow discomfort) has increased his throwing to distances of 120 feet as of Tuesday.

LeMahieu (right foot fracture) began a Minor League rehab assignment with Double-A Somerset on Tuesday but left the game after one inning due to soreness in his right foot. He will return to New York for examination on Wednesday.

Kahnle (right shoulder inflammation) tossed from a bullpen mound again on Friday in Tampa, Fla., according to Boone, who said Sunday that Kahnle needs one more such session before facing hitters in a live situation.

Peraza (right sub-scapular strain) is “deep into his throwing program” and has been hitting at the Yankees’ complex in Tampa, Fla., Boone said Sunday. More >

Francisco Alvarez and J.D. Martinez, Mets

Alvarez underwent successful surgery to repair a torn UCL in his left thumb on Tuesday.

Martinez (back tightness) started at DH with Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday, going 1-for-4 with an RBI single in the eighth. He is expected to play again on Wednesday before being reevaluated with an eye toward potentially activating him for the first game of a seven-game homestand on Friday. More >

Willson Contreras and Matt Carpenter, Cardinals

Contreras left Tuesday night's game in the top of the sixth with left hand soreness stemming from a hit by pitch on April 3. Manager Oliver Marmol said after the game that he expected Contreras to be available to play Wednesday.

Carpenter (right oblique strain) has received a pain-killing injection and will be shut down for at least three days before resuming batting practice drills, per manager Oliver Marmol. More >

Cody Bellinger, Kyle Hendricks and Drew Smyly, Cubs

Bellinger left Tuesday's game against the Astros due to a right rib contusion sustained in a collision with the outfield wall.

Hendricks (lower back) and Smyly (left hip impingement) were placed on the 15-day IL Tuesday.

Happ (left hamstring tightness) was back in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Astros. More >

Austin Hays and Ryan Mountcastle, Orioles

Hays was placed on the 10-day IL Monday with a left calf strain.

Mountcastle was held out of Monday and Tuesday's lineups due to left knee soreness but is expected to be available off the bench. More >

Framber Valdez and Cristian Javier, Astros

Valdez (left elbow inflammation) could return as soon as this weekend, during the Astros' Mexico City Series against the Rockies.

Javier (right neck discomfort) was placed on the 15-day injured list Sunday, retroactive to Thursday, and has returned to Houston for testing. More >

Lane Thomas, Keibert Ruiz and Victor Robles, Nationals

Thomas experienced left knee stiffness while running the bases in the fifth inning of Tuesday night's game against the Dodgers. He was later removed from the game in the seventh and will undergo an MRI.

Ruiz (illness) looked back to normal after taking batting practice, Martinez announced Saturday, but he will have to build his strength back up before a decision is made on whether or not he will need a rehab assignment.

Robles (left hamstring strain) is throwing and hitting without pain and has regained a full range of motion. More >

Kris Bryant, Rockies

Bryant (low back strain) is working out but not near resuming baseball activities, per Rockies manager Bud Black. There is still no timetable for his return. More >

Jhoan Duran, Twins

Duran (right oblique strain) began a rehab assignment at Triple-A St. Paul on Tuesday. More >

Triston Casas, Rafael Devers, Nick Pivetta, Garrett Whitlock and Vaughn Grissom, Red Sox

Casas has a left rib fracture and will be out for "a while," per manager Alex Cora. More >

Devers (left knee soreness) underwent an MRI on Thursday morning that revealed a bone bruise but no structural damage. He could be back in the lineup as soon as Wednesday, according to Cora.

Pivetta (flexor strain) threw his first bullpen on Saturday at PNC Park, and he's slated to throw an up-and-down bullpen on Thursday in Cleveland before progressing to live batting practice.

Whitlock (left oblique strain) played catch on Saturday. Cora said there's confidence Whitlock will be back after serving the minimum amount of time on the injured list. The earliest he's eligible to return is May 1.

Grissom (right hamstring strain) is on a rehab assignment with Triple-A Worcester. More >

Fairbanks has been placed on the 15-day injured list retroactive to Friday with a nerve-related issue. He underwent further testing on Tuesday that came back "really clean," per manager Kevin Cash. More >

Walker (right shoulder soreness) is scheduled to return to start Sunday against the Padres. More >

Merrill Kelly and Miguel Castro, D-backs

Both Kelly (right shoulder strain) and Castro (right shoulder inflammation) were placed on the 15-day IL Tuesday. More >

Ozzie Albies, Braves

Albies (fractured right big toe) was cleared to take batting practice before Monday night's game against the Marlins and could be ready to return to the lineup as soon as Friday, the first day he would be eligible to come off the 10-day IL. More >

Frankie Montas, Jonathan India and Jake Fraley, Reds

Montas exited Sunday's start in the top of the first inning after being hit on the right arm by a comebacker. He was placed on the 15-day injured list Monday with a right forearm contusion but is likely to be ready to return as soon as he is eligible.

India and Fraley were out of the lineup Tuesday for a third consecutive game because of illness. More >

Wade Miley, DL Hall and Jakob Junis, Brewers

Miley was placed on the injured list Monday, retroactive to Friday, with left elbow inflammation. More >

Hall was placed on the injured list Sunday with a left knee sprain. He suffered the injury after fielding a bunt in the second inning of his start vs. the Cardinals on Saturday. More >

Junis, currently on the 15-day IL with a right shoulder impingement, was hit in the neck by a fly ball during batting practice on Monday in Pittsburgh. He remained alert and responsive and was taken to the hospital for observation. More >

Rendon was placed on the injured list on Sunday with a left hamstring strain.

Silseth (right elbow inflammation) is doing strengthening and plyometric activities but has yet to resume throwing. More >

Gavin Williams, Guardians

Williams (right elbow discomfort) successfully threw three innings in a simulated game in Arizona and was cleared to visit the big league training staff in Cleveland to undergo a medical evaluation. Assuming that goes as planned, he'll likely be cleared for a rehab assignment. More >
