In a home run-or-bust kind of season, why should the postseason be any different?

Less than 24 hours after Rays outfielder Randy Arozarena tied the all-time record for home runs in a single postseason with his eighth, Dodgers shortstop Corey Seager tied that mark with a no-doubter in the third inning of Game 4 of the World Series on Saturday night. The tie was short-lived though, as Arozarena slugged his ninth homer this postseason one inning later, just one example of the roller-coaster ride that was Tampa Bay's 8-7 walk-off victory to even the Series.

Seager’s solo home run, off Rays starter Ryan Yarbrough, was his second in the World Series after Seager hit five homers in the National League Championship Series against the Braves. His other home run came against the Brewers in the NL Wild Card Series.

With Saturday’s shot, Seager joined Arozarena, Nelson Cruz (2011 Rangers), Carlos Beltrán ('04 Astros) and Barry Bonds ('02 Giants) with eight home runs in a postseason.

Seager also matched a record for career homers by a shortstop in the World Series. It was his third, matching the Astros' Carlos Correa and the Yankees' Derek Jeter.

In addition, Seager now has 11 career postseason homers, one behind Justin Turner for most in Dodgers history. Turner homered in the first inning to set the record, breaking a tie with Duke Snider.
